Orchard to Ocean 2010

Santa Barbara Pix will be photographing the 2010 Orchard to Ocean 10k, 5k and kids mile on Saturday, March 20th in Carpinteria. We have worked out a special offer to all participants; a FREE 5×7 of your choice from the event. (Requests must be made before April 1, 2010. Along with this offer, $1.00 from every request will be donated to The Carpinteria Education Foundation – so everyone please request your photo – we want to donate as much as possible.

SBCC Lacrosse Pulls Off a Win

The Vaquero women’s lacrosse team scored with just 6 seconds on the clock to break a 16-16 tie and win in regulation play. It was a well played game for both teams. SBCC was down 8-6 at half time and worked their way back and going up by 3 points before Sonoma State tied the game and went ahead by 2 goals. SBCC had the next 3 goals to clinch the win, bringing their season record to 4-4.

Next home game is April 10th & 11th, vs Cal State Fullerton & Cal State Long Beach, respectively.

UCSB Women’s Lacrosse Clobbers UCLA

Under the lights at Harder Stadium, the UCSB Women’s “A” Lacrosse teams defeated UCLA in an exciting game tonight. The Gauchos scored the first 4 goals of the game before UCLA scored. At the end of the first half, UCSB  was up 7-3. The Bruins scored the first goal of the 2nd half before UCSB took the next 7 goals and never looked back. Final score was 14-5.

In the Women’s “B” action, the Gauchos also defeated UCLA  by a score of 8-7.

Next home game is April 10th vs Pepperdine at 11:00 for the “B” Squad and 1:00 for the “A” Squad.  Come join us for some college lacrosse action.

Santa Barbara Don’s Tennis Defeats Laguna Beach

Laguna Beach Boys tennis came to Santa Barbara High this afternoon for singles and doubles matches. The matches started under sunny skies with warm temperatures and Santa Barbara with a big lead. The 3rd sets, the Don’s mixed up their rotation and players, but still dominated over the visiting team. Cate Boys Tennis comes to Santa Barbara High

Cate School Boys Tennis came to Santa Barbara today for a non-league match. A strong Santa Barbara team, with 5 of their starters new to that position, won 16-2 for their home season opener. Photos are posted at SantaBarbaraPix and on MaxPreps.

UNLV Women’s Lacrosse Defeats UCSB “B” Team

Feeling strong and confident after their win over SBCC yesterday,  visiting UNLV Women’s Lacrosse defeated UCSB’s “B” Team in a close game at home this morning.  UCSB started the first half down by several goals, but caught up in the second half forcing UNLV to sharpen their game to avoid a loss.

The UCSB Women’s “A” Team defeated #4 ranked UC Davis on Saturday in a Western Women’s Lacrosse League match-up under cloudy, rainy skies, but great for photography.

With the game tied at 18-18 and just 51 seconds remaining on the clock, UCSB took control of the ball. Junior Ashley Antoon-Algieri received a pass and worked her way toward the goal, scoring with just 1 second on the clock.

UCSB Women’s Lacrosse “A” Team defeats UC Davis

SBCC Softball defeats Canyons

The Lady Vaqueros have a perfect record at home for the season; 4-0. Scoring in the 2nd inning, SBCC went ahead 2-0 and never looked back. Canyons made several good attempts to catch up, but Santa Barbara answered back to win 6-4.

Laguna Blanca Boys Basketball

The Laguna Blanca Owls Varsity Basketball team defeated Dunn School today in league play. The Owl’s have a very strong team with only 1 graduating senior. They are looking forward to CIF Play-Off’s. Photos from both the Varsity and JV games are posted at SantaBarbaraPix.com.
